When Maria’s neighbors moved, they left their beloved cat behind at their old house. Maria lives directly across the street, in front of their house, and she witnessed the entire heartbreaking process.
“We’re moving out, we don’t want him, can you have him?” she reasoned, thinking they might ask her to care for him instead of abandoning him. But, unfortunately, they didn’t tell anyone and just left him alone.
She looked around and saw that the old cat was waiting for his owners to return home. He would look up any car movement. He would stand there calmly, looking back and forth, whether it was raining, windy, or cold. He was heartbroken.
Maria knew she had to help him at that moment. She wished to adopt the elderly cat and provide him with happiness for the rest of his life. He, on the other hand, did not allow her to approach him. She began researching ways to gain the trust of a cat. The cat initially ran away whenever he saw Maria, but he gradually came to trust her and let her get close to him.
Maria took him to the vet after gaining his trust. He had to stay for four days before she went to pick him up. He was, thankfully, healthier and stronger. Because of his adorable eyes, she named him Rolo.
He’d still look across the street when she brought him home. Despite his age, he is very active and playful. He adores balls and enjoys playing soccer. His favorite pastime is rolling in the dirt. He enjoys being outside. The family has agreed to let him outside unless it is extremely cold, windy, or extremely hot.
They even built a room for him to come and go as he pleases. The best part is that they not only gave him a new family, but also a new life.
