A donkey looks to grin as it is brought to safety from floodwaters in Ireland. Today, we will share with you a heartwarming story with a happy conclusion. A donkey rescued from floodwaters in Ireland is on the mend after being rescued by a rowing club member.

The woman, according to FSRN, made a cry for help on her Animal Heaven Animal Rescue (AHAR) Facebook page. The cow escaped from its stable in Killorglin, Co Kerry, on Saturday night when severe weather broke the fence.

The donkey was discovered stuck in a field the next morning after an adjacent river overflowed its banks. Mike Fleming, a member of Killorglin Rowing Club, spotted the predicament and managed to loop a rope and flotation device around the donkey before hauling him to safety with the aid of a team of animal shelter rescuers.
According to a spokesperson, the donkey, called Mike after his savior, is recovering at Animal Heaven Animal Rescue while his stable is being rebuilt.

“He is now drying with towels, eating a hot mash, all nice and warm,” said Suzanne Gibbons, the shelter’s founder. “Our vet has examined him and began medicine to avoid pneumonia.”

Despite the fact that he has a minor bit of fluid in one of his lungs, our veterinarian feels he will recover. Thank you to everyone who helps animals in need. It’s great to see this donkey grin after being rescued.
