Recently, Daisy the dog fell while hiking. Daisy had climbed the highest mountain in England with her family, Scafell Pike, and was going down when she suddenly collapsed. Fortunately, a dedicated mountain rescue team quickly came to her aid.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue is a group of volunteers dedicated to helping those in need in the Wester Fell area. Each year, they receive and respond to more than a hundred calls for help and operate 24 hours a day throughout the year.
Although the rescue team usually rescues people, they did not hesitate to run up the mountain when they heard about Daisy. They don’t care that Daisy is a puppy; She needed help and they did everything to help her.
A rescue team heads up the mountain to bring Daisy to safety, and when they arrive on the scene, make sure to introduce themselves to the frightened puppy so as not to cause more trouble. After making sure Daisy realized they were there to help her, the team was able to examine her and give her something to ease the pain.
Then they began the process of convincing Daisy to let them put her on a stretcher, and also the process of figuring out exactly how they would tie a dog on a stretcher designed to hold a human. They eventually figured it out and managed to get Daisy on the stretcher safely and comfortably.
They then carefully carried the puppy down the mountain, and when it did, Daisy’s family found the help she needed. Daisy is back in top form now and her family is grateful to the wonderful Mount Wasdale Rescue Team for saving their adorable little girl’s life. It’s comforting to see people who truly appreciate the lives of animals.
