People Wanted To Adopt A Male Pit Bull But He Refused To Leave His Other Half

Posted on January 15, 2022 by senad

Katherine Birster and her husband fell into despair when their 9-year-old dog went missing. Birsters loved dogs and was grieved when he died. As a result, they had no immediate intention to keep another dog. But fate was preparing them for something else.

Kathryn Bierster once saw a post from the Philadelphia Animal Care and Control group on her Facebook timeline. ACCT Philly said in a post that they were looking for a home for two related pit bulls.

There was a lot of interest in adopting male pit bulls, but little interest in adopting female pit bulls. Birster became increasingly concerned as she read the responses on her Facebook page. If she didn’t act quickly, her fangs would split. “I was watching all this on Facebook and it broke my heart again,” Catherine told The Dodo. “I emailed the picture to her husband and we talked about it for days,” she said.

Bearster decides to visit the Pit Bull after much deliberation. They traveled to ACCT Philadelphia on March 14, 2014 and met the two dogs for the first time. Birsters immediately found a common language with the dog. “After spending time with them, I realized I couldn’t leave them, and she brought them home that night in tears,” Catherine said. Birsters gave the pit bulls the names Gus and Nina. And they quickly adapted to their new home.

The puppies were cheerful and happy with Birsters. They also thanked each other for their existence.

“Now I know that Gus would have been a total disaster without Nina.” Catherine said, “She is his comfort and anchor. “If he had been adopted or raised without her, he would have always been looking for her.”

3 years after adopting Nina and Gus, they can’t imagine life without them any longer. Katherine often shares photos of Gus and Nina’s adventures on her Instagram page. Dogs love to run and play outside. They also always love to take naps together!

Birsters and their dog live a wonderful life full of exciting adventures and unconditional affection. Gus and Nina have a wonderful permanent home thanks to Catherine and her husband!
