David Maceo and his wife have just bought their first home. Before that, they lived in David’s mother’s house, where space was limited. He always regretted that his playful dog Hennessy had nowhere to run and swore he would one day fix it. Now that they have their own home, David can finally keep his promise.
He noticed a gap under the steps that seemed perfect for a cozy bedroom for his dog. So he attached a small camera to it to make sure it would work. David drilled a small hole in the wall and started building. David works on the space every Sunday, his only day off. He wanted it to match the rest of the house and look like it’s always been there.
As he worked, he could visualize the end result more clearly.
He wanted to make sure Hennessy would feel at home, so he decided to hang some pictures on the wall.
Their family photo features Hennessy’s brother, who passed away a year ago.
David was a bit worried that his dog might not even like the space. But that worry quickly disappeared.
He put the bed in the finished room, threw a treat, and Hennessy followed. The puppy ate a treat and went straight to bed!
Hennessy loves it! The dog now spends most of his relaxing time in his personal space.
Hennessy is like David’s son and dad is very fortunate to be able to offer something like this to his puppy. Don’t you like it?
