Off The Coast Of England, A Diver Comes Face To Face With A Massive Jellyfish

Posted on February 27, 2022 by senad

The depths of the oceans are the one place on this planet that gives me the creeps. You never know what kind of huge monstrous creature lurks beneath the endless darkness of the ocean. The most recent encounter between humans and such enormous creatures occurred just a few days ago off the coast of Cornwall, England.

Lizzie Daly, a biologist, comes face to face with a massive jellyfish while diving. And when I say huge, I mean at least the size of a person. Despite the fact that barrel jellyfish are the largest of the species, this is the first time one has been seen in such a large size.
“It’s known to get this big,” Daly told CBS News, “but I haven’t seen one this big.”

“Woah!!!!! Yesterday, we went diving in Falmouth to wrap up #WildOceanWeek and came across this massive barrel jellyfish! In a Tweet, the diver wrote, What a way to end this marine wildlife adventure!”

Lizzie, who scuba dived with marine photographer Dan Abbot, said the expedition was more than she could have imagined. Their adventure was part of a campaign organized by the wildlife presenter called Wild Ocean Week.

“I want to take the audience along for the journey, so I’ll be posting videos and updates as they happen throughout the week.”

“Diving with seals, swimming with blue sharks, and generally celebrating our coasts,” Lizzie Daly said in a statement. “#WildOceanWeek is about showcasing how you can immerse yourself with diverse wildlife right on your doorstep and, most importantly, supporting those on the front lines of conserving our marine environments.”

You can watch the fascinating and terrifying moment Lizzie came across this massive sea creature in the video below!
