A 12-week-old puppy, now named Ramona, was found cowering in the woods in Acton, Massachusetts with what’s believed to be chemical burns covering 40 percent of her little body.
In addition to the burns, she also had multiple puncture wounds across her back, as well as a broken front left leg.
Thankfully, a Good Samaritan, who was walking her own dog, found her just in time and rushed her to MSPCA-Angell, where she is being treated and nursed back to health.
She is currently undergoing a mandatory four-month quarantine while being treated, and she sadly may lose her leg to amputation in the near future.
Despite all this amazing little dog has been through, her will to live–and her love of attention–gives our team hope that she will pull through, staff wrote.
Ramona is healing well and will be available for adoption once she is fully recovered.
The Acton Police Department has began a cruelty investigation to find the evil person who did this to Ramona. There is a $1,000 reward for information that leads to a cruelty conviction.
