Nitro, the fourth longest resident of Brookhaven Animal Shelters in Brookhaven, New York, has been hosting a home for 1,041 days now.
He was chosen as a wanderer by a Good Samaritan in 2016, and has been stuck in shelters ever since.
He is estimated to be about four years old and he is the sweetest Pit Bullja you will ever meet. Despite the day, Nitro is always sporty with a giant smile and is always happy to see people.
But he is not very comfortable living in a shelter. Whenever he is in his flock, he cries, wanting someone to be with him. But whenever he is out, he always shakes his tail and plays with the volunteers.
The shelter has created a Facebook page called “Nitro Wants A Home”, in the hope that someone will encounter his photos and fall in love with him enough to want to adopt him.
Nitro is about 50 pounds, so far in vaccines, neutral, microcracking and heart negative. The shelter believes he would do better in a home without other dogs or cats and without children.
