A bunch of workers were having lunch when a weak, hungry dog stole a piece of pizza with pepper pepper from them. The polite workers felt sorry for the malnourished dog and quickly set up a help at the Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA in Palo Alto, California for help.
When volunteers from the shelter arrived at the scene, they followed the dog to a desolate place in the outskirts of the city. Their hearts sank when they discovered the mama stray dog trying to look out for her 6 scrawny, hungry puppies. She was feeding them the bits of scrap that she found for the day.
The poor litter was on the brink of death due to starvation. They were rescued and people started calling them the “pepperoni puppies”. Mama dog, who was a dainty little thing herself, was glad that her puppies were finally safe and well-fed in the shelter.
The family is now in a foster home. Queen Mama has been named Queen Elizabeth and her puppies have been named after various members of the British Royal Family! Some of the puppies have already been adopted and hopefully the rest will find a home soon. We thank the kind workers who called for this much-needed rescue!
