One of the major issues of global concern these days is the amount of time we spend on the Internet on social media. Research shows that it is very dangerous, both psychologically and physically, in many ways. It seems that we all know about this, but we are not concerned enough about this situation, which means the current pandemic, especially now that we have more serious problems.
We use our mobile devices more than usual because we stay at home, and this is something we should all be concerned about and need to make a change on a personal level. As much as we appreciate the Internet and all the benefits it brings to us, we need to know how to balance the benefits it brings with all the threats and challenges mentioned at the outset.
Speaking of the internet, there is a very big trend all over the world and it is the use of an application called TikTok. The number of users is growing rapidly and it will become as popular as Facebook and Instagram sometime in the future. TikTok is a Chinese video-sharing social network owned by ByteDance, a Beijing-based company founded in 2012 by Zhang Yimin. Used to create dance shorts, synchros, comedies and talent videos. ByteDance first launched Douyin for the Chinese market in September 2016. Later, TikTok was launched in 2017 for iOS and Android in markets outside of China. It became available in the United States after merging with musical.ly (Wikipedia).
