Clydesdale In An Emotional Budweiser Commercial

Posted on December 4, 2022 by senad

There was a time when salty snacks, halftime displays, and Budweiser Clydesdales were all equally important components of Super Bowl Sunday. The Budweiser commercials with the majestic horses were frequently humorous, occasionally moving, and occasionally even motivational. They were adored by both horse enthusiasts and non-horse enthusiasts, beer drinkers and teetotalers. Evidently, though, they didn’t sell a lot of beer. See the Budweiser Clydesdales music video by watching the featured video below.

The Clydesdales were benched by the new management after Anheuser-Busch and InBev amalgamated. They were no longer treated as the MVPs they once were, but they were still given supporting roles in some of the advertisements and even had airtime that was available only online.

With the 2019 Super Bowl, it doesn’t seem like this horseless tendency will reverse itself. However, thanks to the wonders of the internet, the regal Budweiser Clydesdales can still be seen today, as seen in the 2016 commercial above, in which a group of the Clydesdales performs a cover of Queen’s “We Will Rock You” in their own music video.

A documentary about the formation of the band is available online, and the advertisement ran in Russia. Even if you don’t speak Russian, it’s still quite amusing even though there are no English subtitles.

If Budweiser does not bring the Clydesdales back for a featured spot, which seems likely, at least we can still occasionally find some evidence of their ongoing travels around the world.
