Cat Mother Attempts To Break Into Veterinary Hospital To Reunite With Abandoned Kittens

One day, veterinary clinic staff found a box full of four cute abandoned kittens on their doorstep. They were so cute and they fell in love with them right away. And of course, they stepped up to take care of them until they could find new forever homes for them.

It wasn’t until the next morning that they noticed an adult cat stalking the front steps of the vet’s office, trying to run inside whenever the door was open. The nurses eventually gave up and just let her into the vet’s office. It wasn’t until they did that that they realized she was a feeding mother.

After the nurses found out she was a feeding mother, “the penny dropped” and they introduced her to the abandoned kittens.
“A very happy reunion! The staff greeted the kittens and were ready to feed them, but then discovered an adult tabby lurking outside and trying to squeeze in. They introduce her to abandoned kittens and immediately bond.”

Abandoned: The four tiny kittens who were dumped in a box on the doorstep of a vet's clinic in New Zealand

Naturally, the connection between the cat and the three-week-old kittens was instantaneous.

Here’s a touching story posted on Facebook by New Zealand-based Mill Road Veterinary Clinic staff:
“It was a very happy reunion. She was probably in the box too and she ran away before we got to work. She probably wandered all night looking for a kidnapped kittens!”

'A very happy reunion!' Staff took in the kittens and more than ready to nurture them themselves, but later discovered an adult tabby loitering outside trying to sneak in. The nurses discovered she was a feeding mother and the 'penny dropped'. They introduced her to the abandoned kittens and the bond was instant

Regarding how they found the kittens, the staff said, “We found a box of kittens thrown in front of our door yesterday. Of course we all fell in love with them, and veterinarian Nicole took them home all night to look after them. This morning we found a tabby cat who was lurking around our door every time a guest came and trying to sneak in.”

Lost and found: Staff said the mother had probably been prowling all night looking for her 'kidnapped' kittens

The reunited family had now been found a new home with a relative of member of staff who had lost their own cat.
