Dogs unconditionally love us and keep us company. They’re there for us when we’re sick, and they always seem to know when we need a little extra love. They adore us unconditionally, even if we ignore them or fail to feed them another meal. Dogs appear to understand humans on a level that transcends language. It’s impossible to list all of the reasons why dogs are our best friends, but we should never forget that they are always there for us.
A video of a terminally ill woman saying goodbye to her dog has moved animal lovers all over the world. Rebane Chili, 49, of Brazil, was undergoing chemotherapy when she expressed a desire to see her pet puppy, Ritchie, one last time. The hospital in Porto Alegre went above and beyond to grant her final wish.
In the video, Rebane is greeted enthusiastically by her dog, who is trying to get closer to her. One of the staff members helped Ritchie get up on the bed so they could hug and kiss. As the hospital workers watched the heartbreaking scene, tears welled up in their eyes. Despite the fact that the video was originally shared a long time ago, it has resurfaced as a viral hit due to the sensitivity and grief it depicts.
