A MAN HAS SPENT 35 YEARS TAKING CARE OF FAMOUS BUDWEISER CLYDESDALE HORSES

Posted on September 26, 2022September 26, 2022 by senad

The Budweiser Clydesdales are one of the few advertisements that people remember clearly. Even if you don’t drink, the emotional content and, of course, the beautiful horses will make you feel something.

But where did these gorgeous dark bay beauties come from, with their signature broad blaze and four white socks? Someone must take great care not just in producing these foals, but also in socializing them so that they may grow up and appear in everything from parades to commercials.

John Soto is that “someone.” He manages the 300-acre Warm Springs Ranch in Boonville, Missouri, which is home to the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales.

For the past 35 years, Soto has been aiding with the preservation of their gorgeous stock and ensuring that each foal is born healthy and happy. During that period, he has helped raise 400-500 Clydesdales. He also tends for the retired horses from the harness industry.

Then it’s up to him to ensure that these beauties are properly reared so that they can perform to expectations when they join one of Budweiser’s three touring teams. Even though these newborn horses are full of sass and attitude, Soto treats them all with love and care.
