A brave dog claims sole responsibility for saving his baby sister’s life. The mother described how the quick-thinking dog burst into the bedroom, alerting her to the fact that her daughter had stopped breathing. The woman and her husband rushed to the hospital, arriving just in time to save the baby’s life!
Kelly Andrew, a Boston-based writer, revealed how the family’s dog Henry saved her daughter in a series of now-viral tweets. The mother explained that her baby was feeling ill and that she initially thought it was just a cold, but things turned out to be much worse. But, thankfully, Henry was there to save the day!
“He was head-butting the door open and going into her room and standing there,” the woman explained to Good Morning America. “Every time I shooed him away, he came back in… She couldn’t get any air, let alone any oxygen.”
The concerned dog kept entering the nursery room while the baby was in there, but Kelly has taken him out every time because he was waking up the baby. But she had no idea, because the intelligent dog sensed something was wrong with his little human sister. So he kept bursting into the room, butting the door with his head, until the mother realized her daughter wasn’t breathing anymore.
“The dog kept breaking into the nursery and waking the baby last night. She’s been sick, and I’d had enough of him,” the mother wrote on Twitter. “Until she ceased to breathe. We stayed in the hospital for the night. I’m not sure what would have happened if he hadn’t jolted her awake. We are not deserving of dogs.”
Fortunately, the two parents arrived at the hospital just in time, and after a few hours, they were able to return home with their baby girl fully recovered.
“Thank you all for your well wishes,” Kelly wrote. “The baby is doing much better today, and we’re back home with Henry, who bravely held the fort all night despite his fear of the dark.”
