Senior Horse Was Too Feeble To Stand, But This Angel Saves Him And He Is Now Unrecognizable
A tiny act of kindness can have a huge impact on those who are in desperate need of assistance. Arthur, an aged horse who had been abandoned and allowed to fend for himself, was one such case. Arthur was granted a second chance at life, thanks to the prompt intervention of a caring individual. Unfortunately, Arthur had spent the majority of his life as a workhorse on a New England farm. When he reached the age of 30, his callous owner had no use for him and abandoned him to his fate.
Arthur was then handed from dealer to dealer, encountering several difficulties along the way. Despite his troubles, Arthur found peace in the company of another abandoned horse, Max, and the two of them overcame their difficulties together. Fortunately, Arthur and Max’s ordeal was ended when they were rescued by a kind woman named Cindy Daigre. Cindy is the founder of the Ferrell Hollow Farm Senior Horse Sanctuary in Tennessee, and she discovered the two injured horses on a website.
They were about to be euthanized since they were in such bad shape, but Cindy stepped in just in time. Cindy described how she rescued Arthur and Max from Pennsylvania traders who had been transporting them to other auctions, including the infamous New Holland sale. She was shocked to learn that Arthur had been purposefully starved while waiting for the next auction. Despite this, Cindy was determined to save the two horses and give them a happy and comfortable existence at her sanctuary.
“I pulled them both [Arthur and Max] from dealers in Pennsylvania where they had been bounced around from auctions,” the woman was quoted as saying by The Dodo. “I was told that [Arthur] was malnourished on purpose while waiting for the next auction…I was shocked.” The two horses were understandably afraid and disoriented after months of physical and mental anguish. They began to experience favorable changes after arriving at the refuge, and their condition improved with each passing day. Cindy was determined to keep her promise of restoring their power and vitality.
The deep friendship that Arthur and Max developed during their difficult journey was crucial to their eventual recovery. Their connection and support for one another helped to boost their spirits and assist them overcome the obstacles they faced. Cindy noticed that the horses truly cared for one another and would be upset if they were ever separated. Their friendship arose from tragedy but was strengthened by compassion. Arthur and Max are doing well at the refuge two years after they were rescued. They have fun together and are both healthy, robust, and well-cared for. They now have a safe and loving environment where they can live out the remainder of their days in comfort and serenity thanks to the sanctuary.
