A Man Saves An Injured Swan And Receives The Nicest Hug In Return
Swans, despite being absolutely magnificent creatures, do not have the best reputation when it comes to embracing humans. Neither do other animals. But, once again, this wonderful story demonstrates that love and friendship know no borders! A guy who rescued an injured swan and visited her over the years was astounded that the animal not only recognized him, but also expressed affection and thanks to him.
The charming scene was photographed. After visiting the Abbotsbury Swannery in Dorset, UK, American explorer Richard Wiese first met the friendly swan. Richard and his crew were filming the TV show Born To Explore at the time, and he soothed the injured swan after it flew into a chain-link fence.
A few years later, the two met again, and the swan didn’t forget Richard’s assistance in her time of need. So she somehow repaid the favor in a very adorable way. By throwing her neck around him, the swan hugged the man who had saved her life. “Who needs a bear hug when you can have a swan hug,” Wiese said on Facebook.
“This gorgeous swan had enough faith in me to wrap her neck around mine. She was injured at the time, yet she was able to deliver.” Swans are not recognized for being the most friendly animals on the planet, therefore moments like these are incredibly rare. However, as Wiese noted, animals recognize when they encounter compassionate people.
“An injured swan that was nursed back to health is making her way back to England,” he wrote. “Despite the reputation of being “mean” or “aggressive” this swan seemed to know that she was in caring arms.” Richard Wiese was blown away by the way this swan chose to express her gratitude for his assistance! “When I put it next to me I could feel its heart beating and it just relaxed its neck and wrapped it around mine,” the man told ABC News. “It’s a wonderful moment when an animal totally trusts you.”
