Hope For Paws received a call regarding a Pug who was abandoned in a crate in an alley. The woman who contacted the rescue freed the Pug from the cage and coaxed him into her yard.
Joan Wiltz, volunteer, went to the woman’s house to pick up the pup. At first, he was very reluctant to come near her, but at the same time, you could tell that he wanted to play.
He wagged his tail and happily took food from Wiltz. Eventually, after gaining his trust, she was able to pick him up and bring him to her car.
She decided to name this adorable pup ‘Po’Boy.’
They brought him back to their rescue, where they gave him a much-needed bath and lots of TLC. Po’Boy’s past is unknown, but clearly he never felt love since someone was so easily willing to abandon him and discard him like he was trash.
Fortunately, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and Po’Boy will now be treasured from here on out!
Po’Boy is currently living in a foster home thanks to Foxy and the Hounds.
He’s less than a year old and gets along with other dogs and cats, as well as small kids. He’s neutered, vaccinated and currently receiving basic training in his foster home.
